John Glenn Middle School of International Studies serves a diverse population of students in Indio, Ca. Our annual enrollment is approximately 1100 students and 105 staff members.
We are a proud International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (IB MYP) school. Students at John Glenn learn about real world issues with the goal of developing international mindedness, global empathy and designing solutions. We empower students to identify needs in their local and global community and take action to meet those needs. The IB MYP includes a focus on the IB Learner Profile traits: Principled, Caring, Risk-Taker, Balanced, Communicator, Open-Minded, Inquirer, Thinker, Knowledgeable and Reflective.
John Glenn Middle School of International Studies is also proud to be an AVID National Demonstration School. All John Glenn Redhawks benefit from a focus on schoolwide AVID strategies such as learning organization habits, note-taking, academic collaboration and college and career culture. Students who are enrolled in the AVID Elective or AVID Excel class have an additional focus on AVID tutorials.
